Volvo Construction Equipment has unveiled the EC560, a new 56-tonne crawler excavator, at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2026 in Las Vegas. Designed for heavy infrastructure, quarrying, and large-scale construction work, the EC560 is built to handle the largest bucket in its size class, targeting a capacity of up to 4.6 m³ (6 yd³).

Compared to current models in Volvo’s range, the new excavator offers 3% more digging force and 10% more swing torque, paired with a heavier counterweight and optimised electro-hydraulics. It carries forward the operator-focused cab design and redesigned interface introduced across Volvo’s next-generation excavator platform.

Once launched, the EC560 will become the third-largest model in Volvo’s excavator lineup, positioned between the 75-tonne EC750E and the mid-size machines. Commercial availability is planned for early 2027, with full specifications to follow closer to launch.
